SAIHYA

SARA ASSEFI is an internationally recognized Afghan-American costume designer, artist, television producer, and founder of SAIHYA. A graduate of FIDM/The Art Institute of Los Angeles, with studies in business marketing and artistry, Sara expanded her experience through Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy before launching her custom clothing and costume-design brand.

Her celebrated “Green Burqa,” created for Afghan singer Mozhdah Jamalzadah’s Feathers music video, received recognition from Yahoo News for its powerful message of freedom of choice for Afghan and Muslim women. Sara’s work spans film, television, stage productions, music videos, and luxury fashion.

Her credits include Ariana Afghanistan TV, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, South Coast Plaza, Louis Vuitton, Oak Grove Technologies, the independent film I Am You, and SSHADOOWsnaps—a women-centered media platform shared across television and social media.

Through SAIHYA, Sara transforms unheard stories into powerful visual expressions, creating culturally inspired garments that bring characters, identity, and purpose to life.
